Losing is Precious.. DEBATE!

it was a bad day and yet i feel happy. lol isn't it funny? but yeaahh, today is the intra-school championship day!! i expected to not go to final, and it really happened.

so what happened today? it was a veerryyy happy moment when i arrived. i saw fakhry, kak raihan n jijul in the front n i was like screaming!! it had been a very long time since we gathered again. i miss those moments! aahh~ i sat at the back n thought that fakhry n jijul had seen me. n i just stayed there. then i went to Kak Raihan in front, and they have actually JUST realized i was there n were like, "Eh, Madihah!" lol so they didn't see me that earlier, i guess.

so i talked to them for a while and i was really happpyy lol. i miss my family too much.

so the competition started! and the theme was.. RELAX~ lol. i was in the same team with Syaza, Ain and Amirah. for the first round, we got to be the opposition with the opponent Axxess (and we're Reatta) with the motions :

THW Ban Smoking in Public Places

THW Not Allow Teachers to Cane Students, and

THW Teach Math and Science in English

and we chose to dbate the first motion : THW Ban Smoking in Public Places and me as the Deputy Leader of Opposition. and our case was that we don't want to ban smoking only in public places, but everywhere.

so with the judge Fattah from Sri Ayesha school, we the opposition team lost with a verrrryyy small margin. though i still don't understand why we lost, but yeaahh we just accept it. with no rebellion. lol. Fattah said that the opposition (us) didn't do our responsibility bla blaa. it's oklah. baru first round. at least i do better than i expected. thanks for judging us, Fattah!

so after that debate, it was recess time. i started to accept the fact that i actually lost to Form 3 students =,= i said to my team that they shouldnt be too dissapointed when me myself was sad with what happened but not telling them. so i tried to get closer or actually to even talked to the seniors n also from the Sri Ayesha, but yeaahh i felt like i'm really weak compared to them TT so eventually i became so awkward with all the seniors talking bout dbate, etc. and i can't even get into them. thankfully, jijul is still with his childish acts telling me these and that :)

so, the second round! we got to be the government and i think this is the debate that i like the most today. we're competing Starion team (with Fun Nizar Hakeem!) and the motions were :

THBT Shopping is a Sport

THBT Mesut Ozil (Real Madrid) should Preach Islam

THW Make it Compulsory for Muslim Students to Learn Archery, Swimming and Horseback Riding.

so at last we debated the last motion, the LONGEST motion. i was the Prime Minister, and i did my job excellently (lol perasan gile kot) so we said that the gov should set up a place where students can go learn there once a month blaa blaa. but the case setup is quite solid, but Fakhry (our adjudicator!) said i talked too much on case set-up, so my points were given out a little bit too late. and our opposition was not bad, they're good actually. i didn't know what his name is, but their second speaker was great, strengthen their case clearly. 

but what i cant forget was Nizar's speech! LOL it was so funny and annoying at the same time LOL. he said "now Malaysia is a very POOR POOR POOR POOR country!" "Malaysia have so MANY MANY MANY MANY debt" lol it was very funny. and i POIed him, and saying the same style as he was. "now you're saying that Malaysia is a very POOR POOR POOR POOR country?" LOL. but it was entertaining. and Fakhry said, "well, you should make a more clever joke next time";D

so the result is.. the opposition team won! so we lost again =,= fakhry said that the we lost coz the points that the Prime Minister was saying is not being dragged to the end of speakers. n that the gov cant answer opp's questions, where only the Prime Minister got the answer. i dont know why, but i didn't feel dissapointed at all. it's just that i remembered my real intention of me entering tis competition ; that is to dbate coz it has been long time since i debated. and bcoz ive done my best in this debate and alhamdulillah, i got the BEST SPEAKER :) and also, thanks fakhry for your judging n comments :)

so the third round! OMG i started to feel sleepy n tired at the same time. we went to Bilik KKQ to know the motions n u guys know what, these are the motions :

THBT Palestinian Border Dispute should be Battled on a Game of Warcraft

THBT Being an extremist 'might' be a good idea

In the hadith, the Prophet said that the Jews will runaway, hiding behind a tree or a rock but it will shout : Ohh Muslims here is a Jew, except the Sharqad (Lycium) tree, because a tree of jews.....

and before i managed to copy ALL the motions, the slide dissapeared and i was like, "Hey! I need to copy that!!" and the next actually wrote.. "HAAA! now you know how real debate is like!! it's a prank on u!!" and i was like, OMG. No wonder they're like evil-smiling all the way i copied those ridiculous motions. so the real motions are :

THBT A Debater should not Marry Another Debater

THW Give Automatic Scholarship to Couples Married during their Studies

we're the opposition team, and we chose the first motion. BUT i suddenly got stomachache and didn't manage to be with my team during the quarantine for about 15 minutes. It was kinda frustrating, but yeah it's good for them to be independent without me sometimes. they should know their abilities. when i came back, they said they're with the definition. i said, why would you trouble urself with definition?! we're the opposition! and they were like, "haaahhh laa!" hmmpphh. so we discussed about the human right and all.

so, going into debate. i was seriously very tired n nervous at the same time. so the result was, i didn't talk that much impressive. me myself think i was terrible. lol. i just wanna sleepp~ it was around 6 pm, and it was not a really suitable time for debating. seriously. so while waiting for the result to come out, i said to my team, "well seriously i think we lost. i'm very tireeedd" so that's what happened. i was not shocked at all when Fakhry (yeah, again it was Fakhry! and Kak Ulfah as the adjudicators) said the government won. i predicted it. i just simply wanted to finish it faster and go bacckk~

i met Kak Ulfah n she said, "you guys should understand the case blaa blaa" and she said to me that the gov team were actually saying that the government would pay the girls which are polygamied (lol what kind of word is this). and i was like, "serious?!!" coz i thought they're saying the husband should pay their wife for polygamy. and LOL LOL LOL. it was our fault afterall, for not knowing the real issue. and that happened...

so that's how today ended. congrates to Mun, Syakirah n Hasanah team for making it into the next level! i will always support u guys!! specially thanks to all the adjudicators that helped us improving, and also good luck to those going to quarter-final tomorrow! i'm gonna watch u guys!

although we lost, i got experiences n useful tips from seniors, that was already great to even get advised by experienced debaters. and i learned that just a good speaker wont make us simply win, we need all good cooperation n we should not depend to only a speaker. now i know what my seniors felt when i was junior and being in the same team as them, and i was actually the one who made us lost.. lol.

so that's all, sorry for the long post. just wanna share my precious moments :) alhamdulillah and thank you to other debaters for the things i learned today ^^
