first of all, forgive me for skipping The Journey Part 2 bcoz actually, i kinda forgot it lol xD
since my mood is already here, so yeah im gonna share my experience of attending UTP(Universiti Teknologi Petronas) interview today (or to be exact yesterday lol). since this was my first time going to an interview, it was such a precious moment :) btw im writing this at 3 am please understand me lol
14th of December 2013
a day before the interview. to be honest i didnt feel anything, bcoz.. i dont know haha. alhamdulillah lately Allah gave me this kind of peace in my heart(?) means i didnt really bother to think about my tough days just like during i was having spm; i felt normal. so that evening we went from home to my sis's house at perak which is quite close to utp
at night, my sis asked me which clothes and hijab i was going to wear the next day. i showed mine and she was like NO DONT WEAR THIS HIJAB and then she gave me her shawl(or pashmina? idk), forcing (lol no this is kinda exaggerated) me to wear that. well since im quite a good younger sister (xD) i just followed her words although i never ever tried any shawl since i was born.

i got up early in the morning just in case i was late. the registration started at 7.30 am but my parents and i went out from the house at around 6.20 am because we planned to drop at any eatable place(y do i sound so desperate) before arriving our venue. but then seriously the city seemed dead and there was no any proper place for us to eat so we went straight away to utp. i said, "isnt this too early what do we do"
BUT i realised i was wrong. i thought that i just underestimated mostly everything. we arrived at around 7 am and i saw people rushing to the hall like,.. how should i explain this but can you imagine people going to concert and fighting for their seats lol. i was startled for a while and somehow the situations looked like how girls rushing to year-end-sale xD (ok im serious) THEN i started to become nervous. yes, i was. who wouldnt?
the glamorous dewan canselor which held concerts and year-end-sale LOL
my mom met her friends and i heard she said that there were people who had been waiting since 5 am and i was like o_0 then after that i met my friends one by one (there were 12 people in total from maahad) and yeah i sat with them. during the briefing at the hall i found my first new friend who misunderstandingly(? oh my english) sat at my place when i was at the toilet :) she sat beside me and you know me, i like to meet new friends so yeah we talked quite a lot
we were separated into group A,B,C,D based on first come first serve basis (and thats why people waited since 5 am to get group A) and i was in team B with no.4 (=B4) alongside with nurin which was B68. all the other hamidians were in other groups so we didnt get to be together much. so yeah im gonna tell how the interview was done (im not going to be VERY detailed tho)
there were two sessions for the overall day. note that this is only for the foundation programme. for groups A&B the interview was done in the morning and the personality test was done in the evening. groups C&D went vice versa. so after the briefing at the hall, we(im in grup B) were asked to take the bus and went to another building for the interview. meanwhile C&D had to walk since their place was just near (n this was why ppl dont want to be in C&D :))
we were placed in a room to wait for group A to finish first, n since nurin n i was quite late there were no chair for us to sit together so we had to separate and this was when i found my second and third new friends :) and then we were asked to enter another room where i could see set up desks and chairs in groups of five. i dragged nurin to enter the group with my new friends and it went well ;) in a team it MUST consist of 2boys3girls or 3boys2girls and the facilitators can pick you randomly to go into another group so nasib lah.

i could say i was lucky to have sporting group members, the boys were too. so back to the task; we were all given the same case for us to study and we had to agree/disagree to the recommendations provided. so briefly, it was just like debating with no gov/opp and no rebutting - just present your case. reading a few current issues would do. we were given around 10 minutes for individual prep(no discussion allowed) and i could see people's wrinkles already :D
but since yeah, you know our members got along with each other well, we still had a little discussion and helped each other xD we were first seated in another room(i know we have been through a lot of rooms) before being called individually one by one. and there, in the room was where i met new friends again; one of them was the weirdest person i have ever met to be honest haha. and thanks to her i didnt really feel nervous to get into the room :) during the interview i realised that they just wanna see your fluency and confidence, not how good your points were. when the interview ended we were all like "waaahhh!! good job everyone :)"
even the mosque is glamorous xD
so basically groups A&B felt relieved already since our interview had ended and only the personality test was left. BUT, groups C&D were getting more anxious since their interview was in that evening. haha again, this was why people want to be in group A and started an 1km line up :D
ok im gonna make this short. so after that we ate(it was free afterall boleh ajk satu famili mkn rmai2 haha xD) and did our online personality test; as usual group B had to wait for group A to do it first and then only we could enter the computer lab and did the test. the test was harder than expected. it was the hardest personality test i had ever done well maybe bcoz the test was taken from cambridge university so yeah. overall, group A finished the day first and then followed by group B and so on. again, THIS WAS WHY THEY STARTED QUEUING UP SINCE 5 AM (haha gaye x puas hati)
where the personality test was done
oh btw! the overall processes of the day was done in english including the interviews.
so, this may be useful for anyone having uni interviews. i didnt really write details here (just in case i got scolded by utp lol) but feel free to ask me if you need to (cehh ayat mcm dah berpengalaman. konon.)
moral of the day, dont afraid to try new things or make new friends because you will never know the advantages will you get at the end of the day.
secondly, increase your confidence level because that's how your life works afterall.
and last but not least, work your hardest and leave the rest to allah because afterall HE is the one who provides the best for you :)
May Allah Bless and Ease Us InsyaAllah
